Most of us have made our new years resolutions already. For some of us it is to try achieve a better standard of life or to get a better job or simply to be healthy in 2008. Today I will look at what could be the Rands new years resolution.
“I, the Rand, hope to have a very stable 2008 whereby I can be in a position to not fluctuate as much as I did in 2007. If I am too strong, exporters will not be too happy with me and if I am weak then the importers will have a bad year. I will let market forces determine where I stand but overall I just want to try make everyone happy and be at an acceptable rate. I further wish to make myself available to everyone who seeks to have extra wealth in their life’s. There is nothing more I would like than to be seen, in abundance, in every South African’s wallet and bank account. South Africa is a growing economy and it would be great if everyone in South Africa could be growing together with the country and economy and not just be limited to a select few. If possible I would like to see those who hold billions of me use those billions to empower those less fortunate. There is more than enough of me to go around and I want to be spread all across the people of South Africa. I hope the interest rates do not rise higher and higher this year as that would restrict people from having access to me. I am the key between producers and consumers and if both parties can be happy then I will be happy. Those are my wishes for 2008 and I hope to see them achieved.”
