therandtoday113.jpgAs expected, the price of fuel will be going up next week Wednesday according to the Department of Minerals and Energy. The price of petrol will go up by 43 cents per litre whilst diesel will go up by between 51 and 52 cents per litre. Illuminating paraffin will also go up by 78 cents a litre.

These increases come as no surprise as the world oil prices have been rising over the last couple of weeks and they have almost reached the $100 a barrel mark. This fuel price increase further goes to show the ever increasing inflation rates in South Africa.

With fuel price increases next week Wednesday and a possible interest rate hike the following day, next week could be a very ‘dark’ week for consumers in South Africa.

It looks like Africa is right on pace with the rest of the world. Inflation is continuing to rise at an unbelivable rate.
