therandtoday111.jpgHere we go again, The Department of Minerals and Energy announced today that the retail price of all grades of petrol will go up by 3 cents a litre on Wednesday (7 November). Those with diesel vehicles will feel a bit better than their petrol counterparts as the price of all grades of diesel will go down by 6 cents a litre.

Those that will be hit the most will be consumers of illuminating paraffin. The price of which will go up by 10 cents a litre.

The petrol price hit an all time high at R7.24 a litre in June. Now with the increases in petrol prices set for Wednesday a litre of petrol will be R7.04 in Gauteng and R6.80 at the coast. This show that the price has dropped in the period from June up until now.

With the way inflation is going up, it may not be too long until the price of a litre of petrol reaches the June highs again coupled with this is the ever rising world oil prices. It looks like there is no relief in sight in the near future and the price of fuel in general is just set to continue to rise.

The biggest problem is the government it’s self, not only this government but everyone,is to blame for high petrol costs,it is one way they can be assured the “fat cats” can keep up their fancy life styles, making the rest of the country pay for their fancy lives.Have any of you normal hard working people noticed how noticed how the drivers of exspensive cars think they are immune to high fuel prices by their arogant way of driving, and one must not forget the incrediable secrecy surrounding the whole fuel industry.Yes the greedy little speculators are in a way to blame, but who are these speculators that we are continually being told are to blame? Greedy little “fat cats” that’s who!All the fancy “taxes” attached to the fuel price, what for? the road system is a shambles, one can’t travel by train anymore, that is in a shambles,so why all the ridiculous taxes? To keep the “fat cats” happy!!These brain donors need to remember higher fuel cost means a slower economy, higher inflation, higher interest rates, more unemployment, more crime, etc, etc, etc.Where is the customer resistance in this country? No where to be seen as we have proved to the government we are all incapable of standing together and saying enough is enough.

Let’s not forget the new toll gates that are coming soon. Coupled with this fuel price increases, it is going to be unfordable for one to drive to work.
