The price of petrol will go up by 43 cents per litre whilst diesel will go up by between 51 and 52 cents per litre. Illuminating paraffin will also go up by 78 cents a litre. therandtoday26.jpgAfter yesterdays announcement that the CPIX inflation rate had gone up to 7.3%, today the figures for Producer Price Inflation (PPI) has also gone up in South Africa to 9.5 % year on year in October. If any one had little hope of not seeing interest rates going up next week, they can forget about it as it now looks almost certain that interest rates are going to go up next week. therandtoday172.jpgData released today shows that South Africa’s CPIX inflation rate has gone up to 7.3% in the year to October, up from 6.7% in September. This figure of 7.3% is a new four and a half year high. The consumer price index (CPI) also increased by an annual rate of 7.9% in October compared to 7.2% in September. Yesterday, Statistics South Africa released the figures for the countries GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and the figures showed that the GDP rose by 4.7% during the third quarter of the year compared to the revised 4.4% of the previous quarter. This goes to show that the economy is growing but this could be bad news as economic growth tends to fuel inflation and if inflation continues to rise that will lead to an increase in interest rates. Research shows that guys no longer date girls from ABSA because they are always thinking of “…today, tomorrow and being together forever” OR girls from FNB because they are always thinking “…how can they help you (to become something better)…” OR girls from Nedbank because they ”… are serious about your money”. They are now dating girls from Standard Bank because they are “simpler, better and faster.”
